Learn how to meet the demands of designing a public space and working with a client. In this course, the assignment is to design a café and hotel lobby. Take your basic knowledge of interior design to the next level. Online course is 10 days, 10am to 2:30pm with a 30-minute lunch, 40 hours
In-person course is 8 days, 10am to 4pm with a 1-hour lunch, 40 hours ONLINE PRE-COLLEGE II - July 11–15 and July 18–22 IN-PERSON PRE-COLLEGE I - July 11–14 and July 18–21 Once you’ve pulled together all your new knowledge, you’ll use it to design a New York City apartment. An outstanding part of the experience is visiting design showrooms and the offices of New York professional interior designers. In this course, you will acquire drafting skills, learn to understand floor plans, come up with a design concept, put together a color scheme, and select furniture and materials. Learn the basics of interior design and complete a residential design project.

NYSID is looking forward to offering both online and in-person courses this summer but if the health and safety issues do not permit the College to hold in-person classes, the students will be given the opportunity to transfer into the online classes or elect to receive a full refund. Scholarships covering full or partial cost of Summer Pre-College are available. You’ll be able to take advantage of all that New York, the design capital of the world, has to offer with actual or virtual tours and live Q&A with design industry leaders.īoth online and in-person courses will be offered in summer 2022. It’s the perfect way to learn how your passion will become your profession.Īs a Summer Pre-College student, you’ll learn the basic how-to’s of interior design from the professional designers who teach the College’s undergraduate and graduate classes in onsite in-person classes or online, real-time sessions from wherever you are.
